The Clock Exercise
We’ll be using a clock to examine the different ways that you can rotate symbols.
Create a face, a minute hand and an hour hand on separate layers. Move the registration point to the bottom of each of the hands, aligned with the center of the clock. Add a motion tween to both of the hands. Then click on the tween (the blue bar on the time-line) to reveal the rotation options in the properties panel. Choose 1 rotation CW (clockwise) for the minute hand, 30° for the hour. (1/12 x 360°). This should result in looking like one hour of motion.
To add an “orbit”, add another symbol on the outer edge or outside the clock. Move the registration point to the middle of the clock, tween, click on the tween and change the properties of it. Viola!
